First Look at Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu in the U.S. Sherlock Holmes Show Elementary

Steven Moffat and the BBC may not like it (“annoyed” would be the right description to describe their reaction), but CBS doesn’t seem to care too much about opinions from Across the Pond when it comes to reworking Sherlock Holmes for a modern audience. The network’s new Holmes show “Elementary” is in full swing, with production underway.

Jonny Lee Miller (“Eli Stone”) steps into the role of the famous Detective, while Lucy Liu plays his partner-in-crime, Joan Watson. Yes, Joan Watson. Instead of, you know, John? Anyways, the first pics from the show’s set have surfaced online. Take a gander, won’t you?

The American-produced “Elementary” will re-envision Holmes as a former consultant to Scotland Yard whose addiction problems led him to a rehab center in New York City, where he stays with his sober companion Joan Watson, a former surgeon who lost her license after a patient’s death.

Love me some fine Lucy Liu. But must he where the scarf just like Cumberbach? This could suck or be very good, we shall see.

Liu is always great, and Miller does manic really well. The only problem I can foresee is the network schedule. The BBC version gets around that with 3 2-hour episodes a year, which allows them to really pay attention to everything. “Elementary” will have to shoulder over 20 episodes a season. That means lots of filler episodes…

Something came to me looking at these pictures and thinking about the grumblings Steven Moffat has made about an Americanized, contemporary Sherlock Holmes: let’s take a look at what’s made him who he is in the last decade: reboot “Sherlock”, work on the reboot of “Doctor Who”, reboot Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, reboot “Friends” in the form of “Coupling”. I detect a pattern

I thought american tv already hit rock bottom, but this is the most horrible thing ever created.
This is why american tv is now a joke and nobody wants to watch american series anymore, the never ending obsession for the heterosexual couple and the atrocious romance of doom.
To transform such an iconic figure like John Watson into a female, just to make yet another boring horrid soap show, this can only happen in america.

here here lucius. some things just arent meant to be touched. if you chucked a turd at america, theyd catch it, wrap it in $5 then sell it as a new style hershy bar…
