It appears the Michael Bay-produced “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” reboot is going back to “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” instead of the previously thought “Ninja Turtles”. I guess it makes sense, given that, well, trying to sell “Ninja Turtles” is probably even sillier than trying to sell “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”. At least with “TMNT” you have instant name brand recognition. Mind you, it’s just as goofy as “Ninja Turtles”, but at least when people hear “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” they don’t have to wonder what it’s all about.
It’s right there in the title: teenage mutant ninja turtles.
Anyhoo. According to JustJared, this is your first look at Megan Fox on the New York set of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, around an underground subway station. It’s not like she’s wearing anything that would scream April O’Neil, mind you, unless it’s that funky yellow jumpsuit with the zipper up front that April O’Neil is kind of known for wearing in the cartoons.
According to the site, “TMNT”, directed by Jonathan Liebesman, will follow “aliens who invade Earth and inadvertently spawn a quartet of mutated reptile warriors, the Ninja Turtles, who rise up against them to defend the world.”
The turtles rise up next year June 6, 2014.
