Those wacky Greek Gods and their tiff with those equally wacky Titans. Apparently it’s still going on post-“Immortals”, with ol Zeus all up to his eyeballs in Titan battlin’. Luckily for him, he’s got Sam Worthington’s Perseus, the half-man, half-God fella with the bald head to help out. Well, bald no longer, as it turns out.
Taking place ten years after the first “Clash of the Titans”, oh Perseus is now a single dad to a 10-year old kid, and Gemma Arterton’s Io is nowhere to be seen. Instead, Rosamund Pike replaces Alexa Davalos from the first movie as Andromeda, the film’s new female love interest. Which is ironic, because Andromeda was always supposed to be the love interest before that plot was edited out to make Arterton’s Io the love interest in “Clash”. Funny how things work out, no?
Liebesman tells EW about the below pic of Worthington:
…the trident is but one of several weapons that Perseus has to collect “in order to create one uber-weapon. But that’s probably a massive spoiler. I haven’t practiced being spoiler proof yet.”
Ralph Fiennes and Liam Neeson are also back. They are joined by newcomers Toby Kebbell as Argenor, Poseidon’s kid, Edgar Ramírez as Ares, Zeus’ other kid, and Bill Nighy as the fallen god Hephaestus. And of course, Pike as the new Andromeda, though that’s not really a new character, just a new actress.
Feel the wrath March 30, 2012.
