I know Steven Soderbergh’s films don’t always do well at the box office, but there is probably not another director out there who fascinates me so much as this guy. His choice of films are just so eclectic, from the stylish “Ocean’s 11” movies to that one about the call girl starring the porn star to the “Che” bio flicks to the more recent B-action movie-ish “Haywire”. Steven Soderbergh just chooses some really, really interesting projects, and I’m always surprised by what he picks next.
His latest is “The Bitter Pill”, the film’s original title before it was changed to “The Side Effects”, and has now been changed back to “The Bitter Pill”. From the looks of it, it’ll be just as interesting, though this set image don’t really tell the tell.
“The Bitter Pill” will star “Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’s” Rooney Mara as a woman who turns to prescription medication as a way of handling her anxiety concerning her husband’s upcoming release from prison. Channing Tatum will play the husband, while Jude Law will play the psychiatrist Mara turns to for some therapy and, er, other comforts.
Also starring Catherine Zeta-Jones and Vinessa Shaw. Expect it in February 8, 2013.
