First Look at the High School Zombie Flick Detention of the Dead

Have you ever stopped in the middle of your busy day and wondered why someone out there in this great big ol’ world hadn’t combined writer/director John Hughes’ “The Breakfast Club” with a zombie movie? I know I have, which is why Alex Craig Mann’s upcoming horror/comedy “Detention of the Dead” has found its way onto my cinematic radar. Those of you who have grown impossibly tired of humor-laden motion pictures centered around the undead will no doubt be rolling your eyes right about now, and, honestly, you have every right to be skeptical. One out of every four nerds has a zombie script somewhere on their hard drive, and 75% of those undiscovered gems were inspired by “Evil Dead II”. However, “Detention of the Dead” looks a little stronger than most, though I am judging this one solely on the photos and the “test footage” embedded below.
