First Look at the Red Hood from Batman: Under the Red Hood

The LATimes has your first look at the Red Hood from the new D.C. animated movie due out in 2010, “Batman: Under the Red Hood”. (Though IMDB.com calls it just “Batman: Under the Hood”.) Besides giving us our first look at the violent vigilante Red Hood, the article also offers up a list of the voice actors for the upcoming movie: Bruce Greenwood (“Star Trek”) as Batman, “Supernatural’s” Jensen Ackles as Red Hood, Neil Patrick Harris (“How I Met Your Mother”) as Nightwing, John DiMaggio (“Futurama”) as the Joker and Jason Isaacs (the Harry Potter films) as Ra’s Al Ghul.

Based on Judd Winick’s Batman comic storyline, “Red Hood” finds Batman battling the Red Hood, a violent, gun-toting vigilante who cleans up the streets of Gotham with blood. That doesn’t sit well with Batman, who has to take him down.

Brandon Vietti, who directed the less-than-well-received “Superman Doomsday”, will direct “Red Hood” with Bruce Timm handling the art.
