First Look at the Zombies from AMC’s The Walking Dead

Or “walkers”, as they’re called in the comic books, and now the TV series from AMC. The cable net’s official show blog has released your first look at the zombies in costume, with the show set to premiere later this Halloween with a six-episode first season. Frank Darabont (“The Shawshank Redemption”) produced and directs the pilot.

Based on the comic book by Robert Kirkman, “The Walking Dead” stars Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, a small-town police officer who wakes up in a hospital to a world overrun by the living dead. Rick endeavors to find his wife and child, who have left with his best friend and ex-partner to escape the infestation.

“The Walking Dead” co-stars Jon Bernthal as Shane, Rick’s ex-partner, and Sarah Wayne Callies as Lori, Rick’s wife.

I don't think I ever recall a zombie TV show set in the post-apocalypse. This will be a first I think. I am definitely going to be bugging AMC about getting a screener of this bad boy.

Well by default a zombie outbreak leads to an apocolypse of sorts. Look at “Land of the Dead” it just takes time. LoL. But yeah looks really good. And as long as there are equal parts action and drama I'm good.

I'll have no complaints as long as they're real zombies, i.e. slow-moving. Fast-moving / running “zombies” have ruined so much of my viewing pleasure over the last few years, and are becoming all too popular.
