Check out your first two official stills from Quentin Tarantino’s stab at a (no doubt very talky and bloody) spaghetti Western, “Django Unchained”. In the first pic, you see Christoph Waltz as bounty hunter King Schultz, who somehow finds himself in the American Wild West by way of Germany. Jamie Foxx plays Django, a former slave turned King’s right-hand man, who the German teaches the tools of the trade so that he can go rescue his beloved wife.
The second pic is Leonardo DiCaprio, looking all evil and such with his evil-looking facial hair, and I suspect he’s not going to be doing anything nice with that hammer. DiCaprio plays Calvin Candie, proprietor of Candie Land, where Django’s wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) is being kept. I believe this is the first time DiCaprio has played a bad guy.
“Django Unchained” also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Sacha Baron Cohen, Kurt Russell, Walton Goggins, Don Johnson, RZA, Gerald McRaney, Anthony LaPaglia, James Russo, M.C. Gainey, and shoots its way into theaters this Christmas on December 25, 2012.
