First Look: Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz and Leonardo DiCaprio in Django Unchained

Django Unchained (2012) Movie Teaser PosterCheck out your first two official stills from Quentin Tarantino’s stab at a (no doubt very talky and bloody) spaghetti Western, “Django Unchained”. In the first pic, you see Christoph Waltz as bounty hunter King Schultz, who somehow finds himself in the American Wild West by way of Germany. Jamie Foxx plays Django, a former slave turned King’s right-hand man, who the German teaches the tools of the trade so that he can go rescue his beloved wife.

The second pic is Leonardo DiCaprio, looking all evil and such with his evil-looking facial hair, and I suspect he’s not going to be doing anything nice with that hammer. DiCaprio plays Calvin Candie, proprietor of Candie Land, where Django’s wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) is being kept. I believe this is the first time DiCaprio has played a bad guy.

“Django Unchained” also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Sacha Baron Cohen, Kurt Russell, Walton Goggins, Don Johnson, RZA, Gerald McRaney, Anthony LaPaglia, James Russo, M.C. Gainey, and shoots its way into theaters this Christmas on December 25, 2012.

I am SOOOOOOOOOO excited for this! Leo is gonna own this shit! And how badass is Waltz’s coat though?

  • Lexavi80

I want to see Waltz doing his stuff again, and being a bad-ass with a gun.

  • Debo4735

Leonardo was a bad guy in Blood Diamond also, even though he wound up doing the wright thing in the end.

i will say now that i will not read any info on this movie to prevent it being tainted by anyone. i will just say im hella excited and i cant wait. i will look at pics tho but i will not read any plot info. thank you.

I don’t know if I can buy Leo as a bad guy. He was more or less one in Blood Diamond, yes, but you pretty much knew from the start the whole film was gonna chronicle his heel-face-turn, so it feels a little different.

Either way, I know I’m the minority, but I don’t have much excitment for this one. I’ll see it when it hits DVD. I just don’t care much for Tarantino’s work overall.
