Film District has released the first teaser poster for Spike Lee’s upcoming “Oldboy”, his remake of the South Korean film by “Stoker” director Chan-wook Park. I gotta admit, I was sure they would end up changing the title to something generic like “Revenge” or “Prey” or “Die Bad Guy Die” or something like that, but they’re actually keeping the original title. Go for them, I say. It’s going to confuse the hell out of most moviegoers and they won’t have a clue what the hell it means, of course. Hopefully the trailer, when it finally shows up, will fix all that.
Until then, check out the poster for Spike Lee’s “Oldboy”.
An advertising executive is kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his punishment, only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.
“Oldboy” the remake stars Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Samuel L. Jackson, Richard Portnow, Michael Imperioli, Sharlto Copley, Lance Reddick, and Max Casella.
Revenge is a dish best served squiggly this October 11, 2013.
