The Warrens, the subject of James Wan’s “The Conjuring”, have been involved in a lot of freaky things … then wrote books about them. That’s apparently where most of their fame comes from, and many people have taken them to task over their credibility. I personally don’t believe in ghosts myself, so it’s kind of hard for me to believe in paranormal shenanigans. But hey, it makes for great movies, so why quibble?
Check out the first TV spot for “The Conjuring” below. It’s creepy as hell. I doubt if the real story was this creepy, but that’s why they call it Hollywood.
Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. Based on a true story, “The Conjuring” tells the horrifying tale of how world-renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.
Starring Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Ron Livingston, Lili Taylor, Joey King, Shanley Caswell, Haley McFarland, Mackenzie Foy, Kyla Deaver, and Sterling Jerins.
