First TV spot for Tony Gilroy’s “The Bourne Legacy”, which is still selling the Jason Bourne angle pretty heavily, even if Bourne himself doesn’t actually show up. Unless, of course, they toss in a shadowy stunt double, which would be a real cheap trick, but I wouldn’t put it above them. The first half of the spot is all Jason Bourne, but the second half is all Aaron Cross, Jeremy Renner’s Bourne 2.0 character. Check it out, check it outer.
The narrative architect behind the Bourne film series, Tony Gilroy, takes the helm in the next chapter of the hugely popular espionage franchise that has earned almost $1 billion at the global box office: The Bourne Legacy. The writer/director expands the Bourne universe created by Robert Ludlum with an original story that introduces us to a new hero (Jeremy Renner) whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films.
Also starring Edward Norton, Rachel Weisz, Joan Allen, Albert Finney, Corey Stoll, Oscar Isaac, Scott Glenn, and Stacy Keach.
Bourne again August 3, 2012.
