First Snazzy Clip From Vincenzo Natali’s Splice

Produced by “Pan’s Labyrinth” mastermind Guillermo del Toro and directed by cult Canadian filmmaker Vincenzo Natali (”Cube,” “Cypher,” “Nothing,”), the upcoming sci-fi horror outing “Splice” is shaping up to be something special. The film stars Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley star as a pair of scientists who fiddle with animal and human DNA to create a “beautiful but dangerous winged human-chimera” called Dren. Chaos, of course, promptly ensues. Visually, the film looks absolutely fantastic, and promises to be one of Natali’s biggest features to-date. Which is kind of cool, as I’ve always felt Natali has been unfairly grossly overlooked by just about anyone. And if you haven’t had a chance to watch “Nothing” yet, add it to your Netflix queue as soon as humanly possible.
In the meantime, enjoy this clip from “Splice.” If that isn’t enough to satisfy your curiosity, Bloody Disgusting has a handful of exclusive pics to stare at. How nice of them.
