Sony has released the first teaser trailer for their CG animated movie “Hotel Transylvania”, one of those high-concept movies that you can sell to a Hollywood suit with a single logline: Dracula operates a hotel for monsters. Sound good to you? Then you’ll probably love “Hotel Transylvania”. I think it could go either way. But then again, that’s probably because Adam Sandler is doing his “voice” thing. I have a pretty simple formula for Adam Sandler movies: the more Sandler exaggerates a “voice” in a movie, the crappier the film. See: “Little Nicky”, “Jack and Jill”, and “The Waterboy”.
Welcome to the Hotel Transylvania, Dracula’s (Adam Sandler) lavish five-stake resort, where monsters and their families can live it up, free to be the monsters they are without humans to bother them. On one special weekend, Dracula has invited some of the world’s most famous monsters – Frankenstein and his bride, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, a family of werewolves, and more – to celebrate his daughter Mavis’s 118th birthday. For Drac, catering to all of these legendary monsters is no problem – but his world could come crashing down when one ordinary guy stumbles on the hotel and takes a shine to Mavis.
Featuring the voices of Sandler, Selena Gomez, Steve Buscemi, Kevin James, David Spade, Andy Samberg, Fran Drescher, David Koechner, and Molly Shannon. Directed by Genndy Tartakovsky, whose name sounds like HE should be running a Hotel Transylvania.
