First Teaser Trailer for Primer Director Shane Carruth’s Upstream Color

Upstream Color (2013) Movie Poster

One thing’s for sure: you can never accuse writer/director/actor Shane Carruth of making films just for the sake of a buck. Almost 8 years after his feature film debut, the excellent low-budget time travel drama “Primer”, Carruth finally returns with “Upstream Color”, a film that he wrote, directed, and stars in. If you liked “Primer”, I don’t see how you cannot get excited about this one, too after viewing this teaser trailer.

So what’s it all about? Glad you asked:

A man and woman are drawn together, entangled in the life cycle of an ageless organism. Identity becomes an illusion as they struggle to assemble the loose fragments of wrecked lives.

Yeah, exactly the kind of abstract synopsis I would expect from the guy who gave us “Primer”.

The film also stars Amy Seimetz, Andrew Sensenig, Thiago Martins, and is set for a limited theatrical release April 5th, 2013.
