Wasn’t it just last November that “Call of Duty: Black Ops” came out? Well yeah, but that was “Black Ops”, made by the folks at Treyarch, and while it shares the “Call of Duty” franchise name, it’s not the same people behind the “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” games. The two “Modern Warfare” titles were developed by the folks at Infinity Ward, who last released a COD game over 2 years ago with “MW2”, so yeah, they’re definitely due for a new release.
Enter “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3” (why change the title if it ain’t broke?), due out later this year around November, which would put it in stores about the same time as EA’s “Battlefield 3”, thus setting up what some are expecting to be a clash of the titans.
Early reports (and rumors) has “Modern Warfare 3’s” single player campaign featuring “15 missions that take place across a dozen cities around the world including New York, Paris and London”, along with a rumored 20 multiplayer maps for all you online fraggers out there, including stops in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Mogadishu.
And then there are these teaser clips featuring battles taking place in various parts of the world. Sounds like all hell’s about to break loose…
Update: Just saw one of the teaser trailers on ESPN announcing the world premiere of the official trailer for “MW3” on May 23rd during the NB Western Conference Finals.
