The eternal question: What happens when we die? Apparently we end up in some sort of weird universe where we wait for our souls to transfer to another plane of existence. That’s what director Wei Min’s forthcoming 2012 endeavor “Soul Transfer Station” appears to be about. A guy dies in a car accident, and someone shows up to escort him to the other side. What happens beyond that is unclear, though apparently this odd little world contains nightclubs, attractive women, and a guy in a trench coat who loves him some bondage. Truthfully, that’s what I was hoping the afterlife had in store for me. Who needs that whole Heaven thing when you’ve got an S&M weirdo hanging out in an alleyway? Maybe that’s just me.
“Soul Transfer Station”, which stars Lee Wei, Sea Bao, Jin Ming, and You Benchang, opens in China on March 1st, 2012. The first trailer, as well as a trailer, have been embedded below. Take a look if you don’t mind being mostly confused by the content.
