First Trailer for All-Star Superman Swoops Online

It was just last week that we reported on the voice casting for D.C.’s latest direct-to-DVD animated movie “All-Star Superman”, the trailer to which was scheduled to arrive as a special feature on D.C.’s other original animated title, “Superman/Batman: Apocalypse” due out in store shelves later this month on September 28, 2010. If you can’t wait, the trailer is now available below. Check it out.

“All-Star Superman” is based on the 12-issue comic book series of the same name by writer Grant Morrison and artist Frank Quitely, which finds Superman (James Denton) dealing with his sudden mortality, revealing his identity to a doubting Lois Lane (Christina Hendricks), and his final confrontation with the evil Lex Luthor (Anthony LaPaglia).

I have to admit, the movie (at least from the scenes in the trailer) looks very faithful to Morrison’s original story.

“All-Star Superman” will make his all-star appearance sometime in 2011.

This looks really really good. I was worried what the art would be like, but they seemed to find a look that captures the spirit without necesarrily apeing the art style, which I’m kinda relieved about (just look at supesin that pic above). They definitely got the faces to look better but you can definitely still see Quietly’s influence with the lips, the eyes and again the chin! But I can’t wait for this! But seriously DC whats up with a Flash flick, or a sequel to either “Wonder Woman” or “GL: First Flight” (I’d love a SInestro Corps War flick.

GL: First Flight was awsome. This does look good. I liked the art that they chose much more than completely mirroring Quitely. His style takes some getting used to, that’s for sure. I’d love to see anything with the Flash in it. He is one of DC’s major core characters but hasn’t gotten a starring role since the 90′s Flash series. He is my second favorite DC property, Batman is and always will be first, and never seems to get the recognition he deserves.

Agreed again!!! GL is actually my 2nd favorite, so I was ecstatic when I saw First Flight, even with the lame “Green and Yellow element” angle! Also was happy to see Hal, and Chris Meloni did a fantastic job voicing him as did Victor Garber as Sinestro!! Loved Sinestro in that! But I definitely agree Flash needs to get his own film or something. They keep using him as comic relief, and he is funny, but wheter it’s Barry or Wally he is still a hero, and pretty smart too and they rarely use that. I can’t wait to see the “Young Justice” series where we’ll have Barry as Flash and Wally as Kid Flash. Finally differentiating them. Also an updated Flash origin animated film would be great. They should use Capt. Cold and Zoom as villains.

I agree. An animated Flash Origins would be sweet! If they ever do a Flash live action film they should definately set it up ala Batman Begins and TDK where you have the entire film being about one real villain like Scarecrow (Zoom) and one that is revealed toward the middle like Rahs Al Ghul(Captain Cold). At the end set up a nother character like Joker(Trickster). After all besides Batman Flash is really the only other character with an extensive rogues gallery, albeit really similar.
