First Trailer for Rain’s Ninja Assassin

Here’s your first look at the first trailer for South Korean pop star/actor Rain’s first English-language film as a leading man — the Wachowski Brothers-produced “Ninja Assassin”. If you need to break into a market, there are worst ways to do it than riding on the coattails of the Wachowskis. Granted, their “Speed Racer” didn’t exactly go over well. Okay, so it stunk up the joint, then came back and threw feces on the curtains just for spite, but that doesn’t mean “Ninja Assassin” can’t be one very cool action movie. Check out the very first trailer for it below.

Ninja Assassin follows Raizo (Rain), one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Taken from the streets as a child, he was transformed into a trained killer by the Ozunu Clan, a secret society whose very existence is considered a myth. But haunted by the merciless execution of his friend by the Clan, Raizo breaks free from them and vanishes. Now he waits, preparing to exact his revenge.

Starring Naomie Harris, Randall Duk Kim, Sung Kang, Rain, Rick Yune, Ben Miles, Togo Igawa, Shô Kosugi, and directed by James McTeigue.

Get your ninja on November 25, 2009.

Doesn’t look too bad but the CG is rather obvious. It’s a very optimistic (and that’s saying it in the kindest way possible) to think that this movie or that Rain will ever conquer America.

His English isn’t great and even if he’s an adequate actor in Korean movies, language has a lot to do with acting so like any Asian star who’s English language skills are limited, it’s just that much harder to put in a good performance in an American movie.

I’m sure you don’t know that he was the top on Time 100′s Most Influential People Online Poll two years ago and even Stephen Colbert ademited his talent.

what does an American celebrity having a friendly media dispute with an Asian celebrity have to do with the fact that Rain doesn’t have enough of a grasp on the English language in order to act well? Until he shows that he can actually use the language I’m almost tempted to think that my Korean is better than his English. Besides, he’s famous in Asia for doing music. His acting has been sparse up until now, otherwise he’s best known for the Korean drama “Full House.”

Rain only won because of the exposure he got from Stephen Colbert. Really, Seo Taiji should be the winner since he and his band had far more influence on Korean pop than Rain.

LOL. Wow. He’s only in this cause the Wachowskis liked him in Speed Racer and we’re impressed with what he caould pull off. His English is just as good as Chow Yun Fat, Jackie Chan, and Jet Li, when they first started in Hollywood. Give the kid a chance. Can’t wait to see this.

This movie is going to be EPIC! Really the only decent ninja film coming out and there are a few coming out. The rest for the most part look like B movies. I am counting down the days till this one.
