Five New Images from Underworld: Awakening

Kate Beckinsale and her skin-tight pleather are back for another go-round in the “Underworld” franchise. I guess it’s a good thing Beckinsale’s character Selene isn’t suppose to ever age, cause what would be the point in watching an aged Kate Beckinsale running around fighting vampires and werewolves and other such creatures of the night? Exactly. Take a gander at five swanky new images from the movie.

After being held in a coma-like state for fifteen years, vampire Selene (Kate Beckinsale) learns that she has a fourteen-year-old vampire/Lycan hybrid daughter, Nissa, and when she finds her, they must stop BioCom from creating super Lycans that will kill them all.

Also starring Sandrine Holt, Michael Ealy, Charles Dance, Theo James, India Eisley, Stephen Rea, Kris Holden-Ried and directed by Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein.

The pleather strikes again January 20, 2012.

well I was interested in seeing this film until i saw the guy in the last pic, any film he’s in sucks!!!

Looks like Scott Speedman won’t be in this one, which throws a wrench into the romance sup-plot of the last two films, and destroys continuity. Also not returning, Selene’s signature weapons, the 9mm Walther P99s from the last two underworld movies she was in. Replaced instead with what look like cheap rubber props painted to look like real guns.

Also not returning: Bill Nighy, which means from what has been announced so far, we are looking at a mediocre cast with even a teen-idol in their midst.
