Well, this is a new one. I didn’t think someone could come up with a new Found Footage gimmick that I hadn’t seen before, but I don’t think I’ve seen a car chase from the POV of a camera yet. It looks like 90% of the film is shot entirely from the backseat of a car, which will either be highly interesting or incredibly boring. In any case, check out a trailer for director Kerry Bellessa’s “Amber Alert”. Now if this was me, there are a number of things I might do in the same situation, but going on a car chase with a potential child murderer is probably not one of them, but hey, that’s just me.
While filming their audition video for a popular reality television show, best friends Nate and Samantha notice several active AMBER Alert signs. To their surprise, they recognize the car traveling in front of them as the vehicle described on the AMBER Alert. Sam and Nate decide to follow the car, but with police slow to respond, their pursuit quickly turns into a high-stakes game of cat and mouse with a murderous child rapist.
Starring Summer Bellessa, Chris Hill, and Jasen Wade.
“Amber Alert” is available nationwide via On-Demand today, and opens in select theaters November 2, 2012.
