Universal’s “The Bourne Legacy” doesn’t open until August 10 (a good idea, this — it gives Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises” three weeks to clean up at the box office, enough time to squeeze in a #1 debut, which is something I’m not sure Sony will be able to say about their “Total Recall” reboot), but the studio has already begun releasing clips from the movie. There are currently
four five clips online and the rest from Universal’s Italian YouTube page. Grab some bacon and watch Jeremy Renner kick people’s asses.
The narrative architect behind the Bourne film series, Tony Gilroy, takes the helm in the next chapter of the hugely popular espionage franchise that has earned almost $1 billion at the global box office: The Bourne Legacy. The writer/director expands the Bourne universe created by Robert Ludlum with an original story that introduces us to a new hero (Jeremy Renner) whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films.
Also starring Edward Norton, Rachel Weisz, Joan Allen, Albert Finney, Corey Stoll, Oscar Isaac, Scott Glenn, and Stacy Keach.
