So what’s become of Keanu Reeves’ Samurai flick “47 Ronin”? It’s been delayed a tad, and there were troublesome news of reshoots and rumors that the studio were not happy with director Carl Rinsch’s finale, so the whole thing had to be re-conceived. Basically, what happened with Brad Pitt’s “World War Z”, and that movie turned out pretty good, and is on its way to becoming a hit and possibly launching a franchise. I’m sure Universal is hoping for the same outcome with their very, very expensive period/action movie.
Until we find out later this year, check out four new posters for “47 Ronin”. I’m not sure who the chick hanging upside down is, but that’s, uh, a unique portrait right there. What, all the guys get to stand up, but the girl has to hang upside down? What up with that, guys?
“47 Ronin” is set in the 18th century, and centers around a band of samurai who set out to avenge the death of their master. Besides Reeves, it co-stars “Pacific Rim’s” Rinko Kikuchi, “The Wolverine’s” Hiroyuki Sanada, “Mortal Kombat’s” Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Japanese superstar Tadanobu Asano, Yorick van Wageningen, and Kô Shibasaki.
Yeah, not a bad cast right there, folks.
The swords fly this December 25th.
