They’ve broken out of an American prison and a Panamanian prison, so what’s next for Michael Scofield and his bro, Linc the Sink? We’ll just have to wait and find out when FOX’s Prison Break returns for a fourth season, which is not really all that big of a surprise, but in this day and age, it’s just nice to finally hear it from the horse’s mouth. The show’s Season 3 was cut short by the writer’s strike, and only managed 13 episodes. The fourth year of the heavily serialized show will offer up a full 22 episode season.
Third season of “Prison Break” revolved around the show’s main characters breaking out of a Panama prison. The show’s exec producers had crafted a midyear cliffhanger at the end of the show’s 13th episode; that ended up serving as a de facto season finale.
Now, season four will pick up with the characters having escaped prison, and Michael (Wentworth Miller) seeking revenge against the people who killed his love interest. Dominic Purcell stars as Miller’s brother, Lincoln Burrows.
“Prison Break” will also relocate to Los Angeles; production had previously been located in Dallas (seasons two and three) and outside of Chicago (season one).
Next up for Michael Scofield and bro: breaking out of Hell itself. No, just kidding. Or am I?
What I’m most curious about is how they’re going to justify bringing back all the other characters besides the Scofields, like T-Bag, Bellick, and Sucre. Those guys have been hanging on by a finger ever since Season 1. Maybe it’s time to dump them and move on?
