Fox is Officially Developing a Deadpool Spin-Off Movie

Coming hot on the heels of news from earlier in the day that Fox and Hugh Jackman were already looking at a sequel to “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” that would take the hairy mutant to Japan, comes the even hotter news hat Fox is officially developing a “Deadpool” movie starring Ryan Reynolds as the mouthy merc. And it appears they’re going to do what they should have done with Deadpool’s appearance in “Wolverine”, namely keeping the mouthy merc, well, mouthy instead of sewing it shut. Really, WTF was that about again?
According to THR, Reynolds is still attached to play Wade Wilson (aka Deadpool), in a movie simply called “Deadpool”. The film would be a prequel of sorts, and explore Deadpool’s roots. “X-Men Origins: Deadpool”-ish in narrative, if you will.
The other good news is that Lauren Shuler Donner and Marvel Studios will produce the film. Not so much Donner, but Marvel Studios getting some kind of control over Deadpool should ensure a more faithful version of the comic book mercenary than his appearance in “Wolverine.” In fact, can we just pretend Deadpool was never in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”, and just go back to the basics? Pretty please?
Those who saw “Wolverine” might have caught this easter egg ending with Deadpool, but in case you got the Logan in a bar one, here it is. It’s dark as hell, but someone was nice enough to close-caption it for ya.

*Fingers Crossed* lets see the eventual development of Deadpool after the torturous Weapon X toll on him and how he earned his frigging name, beating the odds of the deadpool.

But fine…If they do a costume I think they should pretty much go with what they started with in Wolverine with the vest, except make it dark red with black highlights and accents. Change the pants from green to either the same dark red or black, and cover those arms up. Give him his calssic mask and viola Movie Deadpool. Or they can go with a reversed colored look, like in the Deadpool: Agent of Weapon X storyline, where the mask was black with red around the eyes and make it a black outfit with red accents. There ya happy =P

Rumor has it that actor Ryan Reynolds actually believes he is Deadpool. Several so far have ventured theories about how this might effect filming which is due to begin in December of 2009. Renalds, who could not be reached for comment, has gone on record as saying “Sorry I will not be breaking the fourth wall in this particular quote” and this has lead some to the conclusion that filming may take longer than expected.

If you would have watched the movie, you would know that Stryker said something along the lines of “You would be the perfect soldier if it weren’t for that mouth of yours” I don’t know the exact quote but that is why his mouth was shut.
This should be good… amusing jokes aside, Reynolds has said (before it was known if there would be a movie) that he would hope a Deadpool movie was more true to the comics. Combine that with the fact that Marvel studios is doing this one, and… there may be accuracy. Which would be insanely awesome. I have hope.
And anne–we can understand why his mouth is sewn shut while still complaining that it was an annoying change. Complain, complain, complain… See?
