To hear the producers of FOX’s “Sleepy Hollow” tell it, they have a full 7-season plan all set up for the show and ready to go. Or, set up-ish is probably more like it. I doubt if they have the ENTIRE 7 seasons all planned out — I’m guessing they know where they’re going and how to get there, but when you’re dealing with network TV, there is a LOT of filler in-between the major plot advances that show up in the season finales.
But the producers will at least know they’ll have a second season to work with, because FOX has officially renewed the show for a second season. Instead of nabbing a back-nine order, the show will instead run its full 13-episode first season, then return next year for more shenanigans.
“Sleepy Hollow” is something of a surprise hit. The show appeals to me, but I honestly didn’t think it would do nearly as well in the ratings as it has, but I guess there were other people out there who were also intrigued by the show and actually kept tuning in well after the premiere.
For those who haven’t been keeping up, Tom Mison stars as Revolutionary British spy Ichabod Crane, who wakes up in the present to aid local cop Nicole Beharie solve wacky crimes involving a headless horseman and his buddies, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Orlando Jones co-stars as their creepy ass boss, with Katia Winter as Crane’s gorgeous, dead (or is she?) witch wife. Harold from “Harold and Kumar” shows up every now and then to do the bidding of the bad guys.
