FOX’s Latest Gimmick to Get you to See Wolverine in Theaters: Multiple Endings!

After getting caught in a big fat lie (that the leaked “Wolverine” version was missing at least 10 minutes of additional footage), FOX has now come up with another way to ensure you go see the movie in theaters and not, you know, be the punk that you are and just download it from the Interwebs to watch with your cheapskate friends. What’s this brilliant strategy they’ve come up with, you ask? Multiple different endings!

Yup, that’s right. According to director Gavin Hood himself (via Firstshowing), FOX and Marvel Studios have placed “hidden multiple secret endings on different prints and theaters will be showing different versions” of said secret endings. Basically, depending on where you see the movie, you could be seeing one ending, while your buddies in another part of the country will be seeing an entirely different ending.

But as far as I can gather, these “multiple endings” won’t alter the way the movie ends. Instead, they will be “add-ons” similar to what Marvel did with “Iron Man”, when Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) showed up at the end of the movie, well after the credits, to talk to Tony Stark about his “Avengers Initiative”. It’ll be those kind of “easter egg” surprises, so nothing that will alter the film’s intended ending.

See the multiple endings for yourself once “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” claws its way into theaters May 1.

According to some reports, box office tracking for the film is pretty high. But then again, so were box office trackings for “The Incredible Hulk” and “Watchmen”, and we know how both of those turned out.
