Now, I am familiar with Freddy and have seen his best ('A Nightmare On Elm Street 1 & 2', 'New Nightmare') and worst ('Elm Street 3-6'), but had only heard of Jason's reputation and back story and never actually seen a F13th film.
I have to say that I am impressed with how they married the two franchises and the mechanics and logic used to have Freddy use Jason. Yes, it is typical slasher fare (in the style of Elm Street meets Urban Legend) for the most part and I think the head to head fights were pretty meat and potatoes, but its the method and ideas they used to crossover the franchises that made the biggest impact on me and made the film enjoyable, as well as some original ideas that could only hold water in a Freddy film.
