If uber producer Jerry Bruckheimer and uber actor Tom Cruise have their way, you will all get the chance to fly off into the danger zone one more time in a sequel to the 1986 hit “Top Gun”.
The producer, who recent attended a producer’s conference held in Lalaland, told audiences that everyone involved wants to make “Top Gun 2” happen, including star Tom Cruise, himself, and probably more importantly, movie studio Paramount:
We still want to do it with Tom, and Paramount are still interested in making it. What Tom tells me is that no matter where he goes in the world, people refer to him as Maverick. It’s something he is excited about, so as long as he keeps his enthusiasm hopefully we’ll get it made.
The sequel was cruising towards a sequel when original director Tony Scott passed away, stalling development on the film for a while there. It looks like everyone involved are ready to move on now. After all, they don’t call it show business for nothing.
So are YOU ready to return to hop back onto the highway into the danger zone? Well, are ya?
