The previous trailers for Jonathan Liebesman’s “Battle: Los Angeles” already made it look pretty freaking cool. They didn’t reveal much about the film other than it was an alien invasion seen largely from the POV of the military personnel attempting to repel them. However, the latest, full-length trailer goes into much more depth. “Battle: Los Angeles.” still looks like a mix of “Black Hawk Down” and “Independence Day”, but now you get some glimpses at the plot and story, and you are introduced to more of the characters. Also, there’s what appears to be a giant robot emerging from a massive smoking crater in the middle of downtown L.A. If you thought this looked like a good time before, you’re in for a treat.
Here is the official synopsis:
When unknown forces suddenly and mercilessly attack the City of Angels out of nowhere, it’s up to a local Marine staff sergeant (Aaron Eckhart) and a new platoon of unseasoned soldiers to meet the threat. As the invasion hits the streets of LA, these Marines become our first and last line of defense in an intense battle against an enemy unlike any they’ve ever encountered before.
“Battle: Los Angeles” invades theaters on March 11, and stars Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Joey King, Ne-yo, Lucas Till, Michael Pena, and more.
