Full Trailer for Guy Pearce’s Lock-Out, Now With More Plot, Action and Maggie Grace

Guy Pearce and Maggie Grace in Lock-Out (2012) Movie Image

The Luc Besson-co-written/produced sci-fi actioner “Lock-Out” has gotten itself a new, full-length trailer that dives into the film’s plot, throws more action on the screen, more Maggie Grace, and more Guy Pearce cracking wise. The more I see of the film, the more I think Pearce might be playing one of those cool characters that might end up fronting a franchise. He’s kinda like Snake Plissken, but with a more wicked sense of humor. The film may also have been re-titled “MS One – Maximum Security”, but maybe that’s just the French title. IMDB.com still has it listed as “Lock-Out”, which I think is a better title anyway. Generic, yes, but “MS One – Maximum Security” sounds like a bad anti-virus software.

A man wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the U.S. is offered his freedom if he can rescue the president’s daughter from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates.

Starring Maggie Grace, Guy Pearce, Peter Stormare, Lennie James, Vincent Regan, Tim Plester, Anne-Solenne Hatte and directed by co-writers James Mather and Stephen St. Leger.

Locking in April 20, 2012.

Say what you want about Luc Besson, the man can write/produce the shit out of some movies (when he’s not directing the shit out of them of course). I’m definitely getting that Snake Plissken vibe here, although Guy Pearce’s character seems a little more upbeat. Strangely, this film sounds like another out of space prison film Tyrese was supposed to be involved with a while back called “The 12th Man”……

Oh, come on, you know most of the jokes that works in the trailer are not from Besson’s typewriter.

You’re prolly right about that. That’s why I snuck “producer” in my comment. If Besson didn’t create it, he’s still smart enough to make sure his name’s on it……..

I’m sure he had plenty of input on the action beats and plot outline. Enough to get co-writer credit, anyway.

This looks like escape from NY but in outer space. Or is it escape from L.A. They just moved the prison city to a different location.

  • Vineland

Escape from NY in outer space + Guy Pearce = definitely gonna watch it.

Is this a Direct to DVD? or theaters?

Looks good! Always said Pearce could pull off some decent action. I still think he’d make a decent Daredevil, but if not definitely a great Bullseye. I’m looking forward to this.

    • Vineland

Ever since “Memento” I’ve always wanted to see Pearce in more movies. Such a shame he’s not in the a Marvel film IMO. Pearce would make a better Ghost Rider than Nic Cage and definitely a good Daredevil. What member of the X-men could he be? Cable?

      • http://www.beyondhollywood.com/ Dedpool

HOLY CRAP! I never thought of him as Blaze! He’d actually be a good Sinister, or Fabian Cortez, maybe. He’d make a better Cyclops than Marsden that’s for sure!!

        • Vineland

Sinister… that would be cool. I was gonna say Cyclops but wasn’t sure how that would go down. I don’t know why but I really want to see a Marvel movie with a Cable/Apocalypse plot…

It’d be interesting to see how they approach it but Cable is just not made for the movies without at least two films before. If we ever jump back to the present for X-men films then by all means bring on Apocalypse and Cable. I think if they added thewhole Terminator twist, played him like Kyle Reese helping the X-men defeat Apocalypse and the audience are the only ones really privy to Cable’s identity.
