Full Trailer for The Spirit

You know, I’ve had plenty of women problems in my life, but this Spirit guy? Ooooh boy, he’s got his hands full. There are the good girls, the bad girls, the mysterious girls, and the ones in-between. As the Octopus says, what is the deal with this guy and all these girls? It must be the mask, I reckon. Anyways, here’s the full trailer for Frank Miller’s upcoming “The Spirit”. This one showed up as a bootleg on the net yesterday, but Lionsgate went around pulling them. This morning, the trailer showed up at Yahoo! Movies, and as such, is making the rounds again, except this time your friendly webmaster won’t be getting a letter from the bad, bad men.

Adapted from the Will Eisner’s graphic novels, “The Spirit” tells the story of a man who fakes his own death and fights crime from the shadows of Central City. The Octopus — who kills anyone unfortunate enough to see his face — has other plans. He’s going to wipe out the entire city. The Spirit tracks this coldhearted killer from the city’s rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront…all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce, love or kill the masked crusader.

Starring Gabriel Macht as the Spirit, Samuel L. Jackson as the villainous Octopus, and the horde of beauties, Scarlett Johansson, Eva Mendes, Sarah Paulson as the horde of beauties. Frank Miller (“300″ and “Sin City”) directs.

The Spirit punches you in the face December 25.

    Okay..here’s how it will go.

    – Everyone will back lash against it because it…well..it looks llke a comic book. And as we all now know thanks to Iron Man and The Dark Knight comic book movies shouldn’t look like a comic book.

    – Internet is flooded with statements about how ridiculous it is… How it’s a rip off of Sin City…”Will Frank Miller ever direct again?”

    – Watchmen comes out, which also looks very much like a comic book but this time people are more accepting because they’ve been prepared. “Wow comic book movies that aren’t ashamed of their source. How refreshing” Watchmen is a big hit with both fans and critics.

    – 20 years down the road The Spirit is appreciated by a select group of fans who see the movie as being fantastical and fun…exactly what it’s set out to be. Dvd special features mention how coming out on the heels of the Dark Knight resulted in it getting screwed. (By this time there will be a new incarnation of Batman that resembles the 60’s show…”Finally Batman has lightened up!”)
