If you ever wanted an excuse to tell your buddy who believes in the BCS Bowl System that his precious system “blows”, this is your chance. How in the hell did Missouri get left out of the BCS Bowl, but Kansas got in? That is simply unacceptable. Yes, Missouri has one more loss than Kansas, but they lost twice to Oklahoma, the powerhouse team of the Big 12. And who did Kansas lose to? That’s right, Missouri. And who did Kansas beat throughout the season? Um, how about almost no one. The only ranked team they beat all year was Kansas State, and I saw that game, it was tight to the very end, and Kansas got lucky with a win. Again, in case you didn’t hear me: The BCS Bowl System is bullshit.
But hey, nevermind my opinion. Here’s how the BCS Bowl games break down:
#1 Ohio State vs. #2 LSU are headed to New Orleans for the championship game.
My thoughts: Go ahead, put all your money on LSU. It’s going to be a massacre. You know, how Florida ripped Ohio State to shreds last year. The same problem I have with Kansas is the same problem I have with Ohio State: soft schedule equals overrated.
#3 Virginia Tech vs. #8 Kansas at the Orange Bowl.
My thoughts: Got some more money? Put it on the Hokies. Another massacre of epic proportions. Kansas will be shredded ten ways to Sunday and it won’t be pretty, but it will be justice. That’s what you get for having a midget as a quarterback, Kansas. (And don’t even get me started on your whale of a coach. Jesus Christ, that man is fat.)
#4 Oklahoma vs. #9 West Virgnia at the Fiesta Bowl.
My thoughts: Wow. What a game. I can’t even pick sides. I’d just say to put all your money on Over. If Pat White gets well for the game, this thing will be a track meet. Maybe even overtime. Put it all on Over, guys.
#5 Georgia vs. #10 Hawaii at the Sugar Bowl.
My thoughts: If Kansas getting slaughtered by Virginia Tech wasn’t vicious enough, watch Georgia run all over Hawaii and their lame run-and-shoot offense. This is what you get for playing a soft schedule, Hawaii. Colt Brennan, say hi to the turf for me, because that’s where you’re going to end up — A LOT.
#7 USC vs. #11 Illinois at the Rose Bowl.
My thoughts: Wow, this is going to be a great game. I say just put it all on Over. The Trojans are good, and their defense is vicious, but they tend to let people score in bunches on them in the Rose Bowl. Remember Texas? Michigan? And Illinois CAN score on you.
