Because you demanded it, they’re making a “Lake Placid 2″, a sequel to the 1999 David E. Kelley killer croc movie. I never actually saw the original, but I’ve heard that Kelley’s movie was more tongue-in-cheek camp than actual Creature Feature. With “Lake Placid 2″ set for a Sci Fi Channel “world premiere”, I seriously doubt it’s going to be any good. Plus, the director is the same genius behind “Boa vs. Python”. I mean, come on! Says Moviehole:

The sequel, shot last year, is set “Seven years later the baby crocs have all grown up and now the little town of Lake Placid has a whole new set of problems”, tells Flores, whose last film as director was “S.S Doomtrooper” starring Corin Nemec and Ben Cross.

Joining the previously announced Cloris Leachman (she’s playing a character named Sadie Bickerman; Betty White’s character in the original was Dolores Bickerman, so they’re obviously related), John Schneider and Chad Collins are Sam McMurray (”Killer Pad”), Sarah Lefleur (”Shall we Dance”), Alicia Zeigler (”Legacy”), Joe Holt (”Law & Order”), Justin Urich (”The Rage : Carrie 2″), and Ian Reed Kessler (TVs “The Loop”).
