Is Abbie Cornish the New Bond Girl?

Has Australian actress Abbie Cornish landed the Bond Girl role in the upcoming Bond movie? Bond 44 or was it 55? Well, you know, the next one that’s coming up. Anyhoo. Maybe she has, and maybe she hasn’t. The fact is, everyone and their momma (and their daughter) has been named as the “new Bond girl”. Hell, even the Olsen twins have been bandied about as landing the role at one point. See what I mean? The latest name is Abbie Cornish, whose best bud Rose Byrne seems to have let the cat out of the bag when she told MTV, “I think Abbie Cornish’s got it.” Abbie is cute and all, but a Bond Girl? I can’t quite see it…

Tasty CANDY with Abbie Cornish

Despite a couple of critically acclaimed movies already under her belt (”A Good Year” and “Candy”), Australian actress (hmm, what’s up with all the Aussies on the Random Page today?) Abbie Cornish’s biggest claim to fame is as the maybe-maybe not woman who split up Hollywood’s golden couple Reese Witherspoon and hubby Ryan Phillippe, who she may or may not have an affair with while they were filming their Iraq War drama “Stop Loss”. Abbie hails from Lochinvar, New South Wales, Australia, and learned to drive at the age of 12. Now that’s impressive. When I was 12, I barely knew how to use the remote control.
