The Sci Fi Channel Brings Out the Babes
Who says the Sci Fi Channel doesn’t know how to sell their shows? For their upfront meet and greet with the press, the Sci Fi Channel brought out the big guns — the sexiest gals this side of sci-fi to sell their wares. Amanda Tapping, post-Stargate SG1 and Atlantis (and set to introduce a new show that she’ll produce and star), and of course, there are the Battlestar Galactica babes, Tricia Helfer, Grace Park, and Katee Sackhoff. Battlestar Galactica will be saying bye-bye after this season, but if the Sci Fi Channel is smart, they’ll ink all three gals for new series. Behold — the best parts of the Sci Fi Channel’s Upfront.
Stargate: Atlantis Season 4 Promos
There is good news and bad news about the upcoming fourth season of “Stargate: Atlantis”. The good news first: Amanda Tapping joins the cast, reprising her role of Samantha Carter from the long-running “Stargate: SG1″ series, which has ended after its recent tenth season. Now the bad news: Torri Higginson has been been killed off “Atlantis”. Or at least, it seems like she’s been killed off. The last time we saw her, she was blasted halfway across the Atlantis station by a giant laser beam, so you know, she looked dead (or will be) to me. In any case, season four of “Stargate: Atlantis” is coming, and here are some promos. Featuring Amanda Tapping and Rachel Luttrell and “the guys”.
“Stargate SG1: Continuum” Plot Details
If you’re a “Stargate SG1″ fan, you might care about this. I count myself one, even though I’ve stopped tuning into the show since, well, last year. The show, for those who don’t know, is being canceled, and the Powers That Be are making two direct-to-DVD movies as a farewell. Here’s the plot for the first movie, “Stargate: Continuum”: SG-1 attends the execution of Ba’al, the last of the Goa’uld system lords, when Teal’c (Judge) and Vala (Black) inexplicably disappear into thin air. Carter (Tapping), Daniel (Shanks) and Mitchell (Browder) race back to a world where history has been changed: The Stargate program has been erased from the timeline. As they try to convince the authorities of what’s happened, a fleet of Goa’uld motherships arrives in orbit, led by Ba’al; his queen, Katesh (Vala); and his first prime, Teal’c. SG-1 must find the Stargate and set things right before the world is enslaved by the Goa’uld.
Jewel Staite and Amanda Tapping Joins “Stargate: Atlantis”
Those guys over at The Sci Fi Channel are really going all out to make sure that their last “Stargate” series, “Atlantis”, remains on the air. With the show set for its fourth season, the producers have tapped “Stargate: SG1’s” Amanda Tapping to join the show, continuing the character of Sam Carter that sthe played on “SG1″ for the last 10 years. Also joining “Atlantis” is “Firefly” castaway Jewel Staite, who had previously been on the show in a past episode, but will now have a permanent role. According to Sci Fi Channel, while introducing Tapping and Staite to the cast, they’ll be killing off “beloved friends”.
Stargate SG1 Gets Cancelled; Sci-Fi Babes No More
Oh drat. While I thought the “Stargate” TV show was kinda lame, it was also kinda fun, so I’m a tad bum to hear that the show has been cancelled by the Sci Fi Channel, which has been footing the bill ever since Showtime, the show’s original moneymen, dumped it a few years back. Now in its 10th (and last) season, the show easily outran the movie of the same name, and was one of those rare occassions where the spin-off was a hell of a lot better than the original. I’ll miss “Stargate SG1″, so in honor of it, here are some of the show’s super babes.
Claudia Black “SG-1″ Season 10 Promos
This promo Claudia Black (the former kickass Peacekeeper from the formerly kickassest show on TV, “Farscape”) doesn’t do her justice. Her character on the sci-fi show “SG-1″ is supposed to be a wild and free-spirited thief, a roguish pirate, if you will, except these promos make Claudia look like Little Annie Orphan or something to that effect. (Yes, I’m a sci-fi geek, and I do, in fact, watch this stuff. What of it?) Oh well, it’s Claudia (with Amanda Tapping to boot!), so it’s all good.
Amanda Tapping is Sexy
These pictures of Amanda Tapping makes you kinda regret that her character has to wear those stuffy, baggy military fatigues on “Stargate: SG1″ all the time. I mean, look at her. Amanda is one helluva sexy woman!
Amanda Tapping in Femme Fatale Magazine
Amanda Tapping plays a tough talking brainiac soldier on the sci-fi series “Stargate SG-1″. The best part of the show? Getting a big chuckle everytime Tapping’s Sam character launches into a complex mathematical explanation that only she understands. Here’s proof that underneath that military fatigue Sam Carter (aka Amanda Tapping) is a serious babe waiting to pounce. Her spread in Femme Fatale:
