So What’s Amy Acker Been Up to?

So what has Amy Acker, the impossibly cute (and dare I say it, even hot?) girl from Angel? Well, after Angel was cancelled, she’s been doing guest spot on other people’s TV shows, being that once you’ve been a regular on one TV show, it’s pretty easy to get guest spots on other people’s TV shows. That’s just how TV works. I should know, in a past life, I was a child star with a coke habit. But I digress. Amy Acker will be re-teaming with Eliza Dushku in Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse, where she’ll be playing a doctor. A really, really awesomely hot doctor, that is. Watch out, Eliza, here comes Amy! Well okay, maybe it won’t be that ominous, but I’ll be damn if I’m not gonna be watching Dollhouse as a result. A reminder of Amy Acker’s hotness follows.

Amy Acker Joins Nathan Fillion in FOX’s “Drive”

The premise of FOX’s midseason replacement show “Drive” is very “Deathrace 2000″-ish: It’s an action-drama about a bunch of people competing in an illegal cross-country race, each for their own reasons, with a bundle of money going to the winner. (Millions upon millions, one suspects.) Nathan Fillion, late of Joss Whedon’s “Serenity”, is the lead, and Amy Acker has been cast as his missing wife, so says creator Tim Minear via his site here. Amy Acker, if you don’t know, is the very pretty “girl next door” type in “Angel”. “Drive” rolls onto TV screens sometime in mid-2007 (thus its description as a “midseason replacement” show). Minear, meanwhile, is a Whedon disciple, so no doubt the Whedon dorks are anxiously awaiting this show.

Everytime I see one of her photospreads, I have to keep asking myself why I didn’t think this girl was all that hot on the show “Angel”. I guess it’s the writers — they wanted to keep her homely and kinda nerdy, so her innner hotness never really showed. Well, there’s no doubt about it now — Amy Ackers is a flat-out hottie!
