Mexican actress Ana Claudia Talancon made her big screen (and at the same time, leading lady) debut in the movie “El Cometa”, about Valentina (Talancon), who is forced to hide with a traveling circus after the death of her father; there she establishes a friendship with Victor, a young man fascinated by the new cinema. She was nominated for Best Actress at the Ariel, the Mexican film industry’s version of the Oscars. She has since graduated to American cinema, with roles in Richard Linklater’s “Fast Food Nation” and the upcoming remake of the Japanese horror film “One Missed Call”, about a haunted cellphone.
