R&B Babe Ashanti Back in Maxim

Seriously, who is cranking out these R&B babes, and where are they secretly keeping the R&B Babe Cranking Machine, because I gotsta get me one for the attic. Ashanti is not one of the R&B crooners I’m overly familiar with; I know the name, and I’m reasonably certain I’ve heard one or two of those songs that she used to do with a Rapper of the Week, but I don’t think I’ve ever really invested a lot of time exploring her discography, which I believe is a biography of disco. Or at least that’s what Wikipedia tells me, and it’s never been wrong before. Anyhoo. Here’s Ashanti back in a recent ish (as the kids say) of Maxim.

R&B Singer Ashanti

I could be wrong, but as I recall, Ashanti was one of the first (if not the first) R&B singer to mix her smooth vocals with a rapper, thus setting off a chain reaction where EVERYONE and their momma was pairing up rappers with female R&B singers. My music IQ isn’t exactly “all that” (as the kids would say), so I don’t know if this fad is still in or if it’s gone out, but Ashanti was there at the beginning (or close), and that means she deserves special mention. She’s also very hot, too, and that’s always a plus for the music video generation.

Hollywood Babes Agree that “John Tucker Must Die”

Hot Hollywood babes agree — they must all attend the premiere of “John Tucker Must Die”! (I’m tellin’ ya, kids, this stuff just rights itself!) The movie is a comedy about some guy named John Tucker who, urm, must die. Or somethin’. Anyhoo, the hotties joining the fray includes the film’s stars Arielle Kebbel, Brittany Snow, and singer-turned-actress Ashanti. And just for the heck of it, “Desperate Housewives’” Eva Longoria joined the fun to show the kids how it’s done. And go see “John Tucker”. Or don’t. See if I care.
