So yeah, Cindy Crawford is one of the originals, and she’s definitely a retro bikini goddess. Though to be honest, calling her “retro” is a bit of an insult. So let’s not. Your Fourth of July Picture of the Day: Cindy Crawford

So when was the last time we heard anything from Cindy Crawford? As I recall, she’s still doing some modeling around the world, and I think she’s even been on some runways. Then again, Cindy is kinda getting long in the tooth — what is she now, in her ’40s? In the modeling world, that’s like 80! — but we can always go back to the glory days of Cindy Crawford goodness. Which is what we did here, back to when Cindy Crawford draped a stars and stripes bikini on her find body and showed it to the world. Oh my, the American Flag has never looked better.

Cindy Crawford in Flare Magazine

Hey, remember when Cindy Crawford was trying to break into acting, and her first big movie was “Fair Game” with one of those Baldwin Boys? (I forgot which one; does it really matter?) The movie got terrible reviews and Cindy’s acting was viciously harpooned by the critics and just about everyone in the known universe. The poor girl had to run off to hide somewhere, her supermodel mystique shattered into a thousand pieces. Anyway, seeing these pictures of Cindy Crawford in Flare Magazine reminded me of that moment in movie history, especially the next to last image of Cindy “licking” the Hollywood sign. Cindy’s certainly gotten classier in her old age, huh? Not.
