Latin Flavor Explosion: The 2007 Alma Awards

On Friday Hollywood’s hottest Latinas (and some Waspy chicks) showed up for the 2007 Alma Awards, basically a “Latin Only” showcase. Well, actually, you can still show up if you’re not Latin, but your chances of winning probably ain’t so good. Present and accounted for were a bevy of Latin babes, highlighted by the most famous one of them all, Eva Longoria. Joining her were Sofia Vergara, Constance Marie, Alexa Vega, Marisol Nichols, Danna Garcia, and former beauty queen Dayanara Torres. So who won and who lost? Who cares is more like it!

Latin Flavor: Dayanara Torres

Before she became known as the girl who Marc Anthony dumped for Jennifer Lopez, Dayanara Torres was a Miss Universe, which she won after some dude approached her to represent her town in the Miss Puerto Rico pageant. I guess it’s true what they say — when you’re hot, anything is possible. The former beauty queen has parlayed her fame into TV, movie, and singing gigs, and is now doing the soap thing on American TV via “The Young and the Restless”. Trivia: I guess you could say that Marc Anthony went from shacking up with Miss Universe to some girl “from the block”. Har har.
