New TV Show Preview: Flash Gordon

The Sci Fi Channel has a new show, an “update” of the sci-fi camp classic “Flash Gordon”. The show, called the same thing, stars Eric Johnson as Flash, and Gina Holden as his ex-girlfriend turned TV reporter Dale Arden. The premiere was last night, and it’s actually not bad. Mind you, it’s not entirely great, either. I’m not sure about the Mongol setting, it looks so…lame. And Ming, which they made a Caucasian guy with blond hair, probably so they won’t be accused of being racists if they kept the Asian guy from the original movie, is really not that scary. The entire show is kind of plain, and the 90-minute pilot doesn’t really do anything all that awesome. Still, it’s got Gina Holden, and she’s quite the babe.

Gina Holden as Dale Arden in Flash Gordon

If you weren’t looking forward to the Sci Fi Channel’s version of “Flash Gordon”, then these pictures of Gina Holden as intrepid reporter turned rebel space adventurer Dale Arden might just do it. Now I’m not saying you should watch “Flash Gordon” when it comes on in August because Gina Holden is hot, but I am saying you should tune into “Flash Gordon” when it comes on in August because Gina Holden is awesomely hot. So the girls get a buff Eric Johnson and we get Gina Holden. Sounds like a fair split to me!

Gina Holden Joins Sci Fi’s Flash Gordon

The Sci Fi Channel’s reboot of the Flash Gordon character has found its Dale Arden in “Final Destination 3″ actress Gina Holden. The series will make its debut on the Sci Fi Channel in August, and has already started production in Canada. It will star Holden as the female lead, and Eric Johnson as a teen Flash Gordon. Other members of the cast include Karen Cliché as Baylin, Giles Panton as Joe, Panou as Nick, Jonathan Walker as Rankol, Jill Teed as Norah, Carmen Moore as Jolie and Anna van Hoft as Aura.
