Scarlett Johansson as Cinderella, Jessica Biel as Pocahontas, and Rachel Weisz as Snow White? Hey, why not, we’re tired of seeing the same ol animated girls, why not slip a famous celebrity into the role, photograph it, and use it to promote Disneyland? Um, yeah, that’s the idea. I have to admit, the Jessica Biel as Pocahontas one is really hot, but the Scarlett Johansson as Cinderella brings up all manner of ideas that would break the law in a number of States in the Union. And just for laughs, there’s model Gisele Bundchen as Wendy from Peter Pan and Jennifer Lopez as Jasmine from Aladdin.

Remember the day when Jennifer Lopez was THE Latina that every man lusted after and every woman wanted to have the caboose of? Well, she’s not that anymore, and if the sudden appearance of Jennifer Lopez everywhere is any indication (including this recent spread in Arena Magazine), it must be new album release time! Hey, that works for us, because it gives us this kind of kickin’ spread. Wait, do the kids still say “kickin’” to describe something cool? Did they ever? Ugh, my uncoolness sometimes pisses me off. Seriously, man, if I was any uncooler (is that even a word?), I’d kick my own ass and push me into the school locker. But I digress. Jennifer Lopez in Arena. Nice.

Now hear me out: now that Robert Rodriguez has been named the official director of the upcoming “Barbarella” remake, every actress in Hollywood will be scrambling to get their names out there and attached to the role, rather true or not. Before that happens, let me suggest one prime candidate for the role: Jennifer Lopez. Yes, that’s right, J-Lo herself. She’s got the body, the fact, the fans, and the acting chops to make this happen. And let’s face it: this role doesn’t exactly call for great actors, and J-Lo fits the bill.

When will celebrities learn? If you are involved, never do a movie with each other. It never ends well. But I guess no one bothered to tell Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, because they’re starring in “El Cantante”, an autobiography about Hector Lavoe (Anthony), who was apparently (I say “apparently” because I’ve never heard of him, and I thought “salsa” was a chip sauce) one of the biggest Spanish-language singers in the 1970s, but personal tragedy and a heroin addiction ruined his life and left him penniless. Don’t you hate it when that happens? “El Cantante” is directed by Leon Ichaso and opens August 1st, 2007. Pictures and a link to the trailer here.

I’m not entirely sure what was the impetus for this particular Jennifer Lopez photoshoot that has her assuming a variety of fantasy-related garb (or lack thereof, as the case may be), but I ain’t complainin’. By the way, did you hear that Jennifer Lopez is worth somewhere north of $100 million? Go figure. I didn’t know one person could sell that much perfume! Then again, not everyone looks like Jennifer Lopez, so maybe she’s worth every penny. At the very least, she’s gonna be stuck in my dreams for a while as I go through this selection of fantasy poses…

The year 2069, to be exact, judging by the clothes Jennifer Lopez is wearing to the 2006 MTV VMAs. I hope this isn’t going to be part of her clothing line, because if it is, the woman has Godawful taste in designs. Seriously, what was she thinking wearing this thing? Look at her husband Mark Anthony. The guy is more embarassed to be standing next to her than I am just to be posting about how stupid she looks. Which block is JLO from — Mars?

Looks like Hollywood was out and about for the 2006 ALMA Awards this Sunday. Some of the babes present was a dangerously orange Jessica Simpson, a smoking hot Jessica Alba in a black number, Latina songstress Paulina Rubio, big ass mother trucker Jennifer Lopez, desperate housewife Eva Longoria taking time off from watching her boyfriend cut a swath through the NBA Playoffs, not-really-any-talent chick Carmen Electra, and of course the always gorgeous and illuminating Roselyn Sanchez. And oh yeah, the ALMA Awards celebrates Latinos in the entertainment biz and such.

It must be strange to be Jennifer Lopez. Just a short 2-3 years ago she couldn’t breathe without the paparazzi trying to wipe her nose and sell the hanky on Ebay. Now, she’s barely in the papers. And when I say “barely”, I mean at all. Must be weird to be the center of the universe one day and not the next. Hmm. The life of a Hollywood diva, I suppose.
