Totally Random: Hot Chicks with Guns on TV

Is it just me, or are there a lot more hot chicks on TV carrying heat lately? (Granted, it’s probably just me, but for the sake of this bit, just go along with it.) You’ve got the gals of The Sarah Connor Chronicles, the sci-fi gals of Battlestar Galactica, and there’s the Chuck babe. The Bionic Woman babe. And who else? Sarah Shahi in Life packs plenty of heat herself, though there aren’t that many good pictures of her doing such. Here are a couple of our favorite girls with guns currently on TV at the moment. The Terminator girls, of course, plus the most ass kickingest sci-fi babe on Battlestar Galactica, Katee Sackhoff.

Lena Headey in The Red Baron

In-between kicking metal ass in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Lena Headey, the hot queen from 300, was busy romancing the Red Baron in the German movie “The Red Baron”. Here’s the plot from IMDB.com: “Baron Manfred von Richthofen (Schweighöfer) is the most feared and celebrated pilot of the German air force in World War I. To him and his companions, air combats are events of sporty nature, technical challenge and honorable acting, ignoring the terrible extent of war. But after falling in love with the nurse Käte (Headey), Manfred realizes he is only used for propaganda means. Caught between his disgust for the war, and the responsibility for his fighter wing, von Richthofen sets out to fly again.” Eh, it’s got Lena Headey. ‘Nuff said.

Lena Headey Sarah Connor Chronicles Promos

In case I missed it, Summer Glau isn’t the only reason to watch The Sarah Connor Chronicles TV series when it premieres next year. There’s a little lady name Lena Headey, too. You remember Lena, don’t you? The hottest Queen in all of Greece in 300? Yup, that’s her, and Lena Headey will be bringing her pointy nipples to TV next year with The Sarah Connor Chronicles, playing Sarah Connor, the role previously assayed by Linda Hamilton in the first two Terminators. So let’s see: Lena Headey + Summer Glau on the same show, kicking men’s asses all over the place. Oh yeah, I’m definitely gonna love this show. Check out some promos of Lena in The Sarah Connor Chronicles. What’s the deal with hot girls and guns?

Brit Babe Invasion: The TV Edition

The British are coming! The British are coming! Well, the British women, anyway. (Okay, there are some men, too, but we don’t really care for them all that much here. It’s British women or bust, baby!) If you’ve turned on the TV recently, you’ll notice that British babes are all over the place, some fronting new shows, and others co-starring in them. Leading the pack is Michelle Ryan, who came from EastEnders to star in NBC’s Bionic Woman, followed by Anna Friel (ex-Brookside) in ABC’s Pushing Daisies, and then there are Sophia Myles and Lena Headey from Moonlight and The Sarah Connor Chronicles, respectively. And let’s not forget Parminder Nagra, who is in her, what, 50th season of ER? For a full list of British Babes invading American shores, check out here. For now, let’s get to the pictures.

Lena Headey Shills for Sarah Connor Chronicles

I’m still not entirely sure why Lena Headey has put a movie career aside to star in FOX’s upcoming “The Sarah Connor Chronicles” TV show. Then again, from what I’ve seen of the show, it looks to be pretty darn good. Or at least, on part with the “Terminator” movies from which it was spun from. And besides, it’s Lena Headey. She could do a TV show where all she did was sit in an armchair and read a grocery list, and I’d still think she rocked in it. And lest we forget, Lena can kick ass as well as the next man — even the metal kind.

Watch the Sarah Connor Chronicles Before It Gets Canceled

Hey, I love the movies, but I’m not going to convince myself this show is going to stay on, because it’s not. Forget for one moment that it’s a retread, and won’t have anything remotely new, or that the cast is killer (Lena Headey AND Summer Glau on the same show? Damn!) My TV sense is pretty good, and I can always tell when a show will stay on, and when one will get canned. “The Sarah Connor Chronicles”, as good as it’ll be, will get canned faster than you can say, “Damn, what happened to the Terminator”? So watch it now before it goes — you aren’t gonna get a second chance! Some promos and stuff below.

Video: The Sarah Connor Chronicles TV Show Trailer

Fox’s “The Sarah Connor Chronicles” gets a trailer. Yeah, I know, since when did they start making trailers for TV shows, right? But if you’ve been to the movies lately, you’ve probably seen one or two before every show. They’re everywhere. Anyways, this one for “The Sarah Connor Chronicles” looks pretty sweet. Summer Glau is apparently the cyborg from the future sent to save young John Connor and her mother, Sarah Connor. I still don’t like the new bad Terminator, though, I don’t know why…

Three Clips From The Sarah Connor Chronicles

You know, after “300″, I would watch Lena Headey buy groceries wearing flip-flops. And while I am a fan of the “Terminator” franchise, this idea of a Sarah Connor Chronicles, which chronicles the fugitive life of Sarah Connor (Lena Headey) and her son John Connor (Thomas Dekker), the would-be leader of the human race, just didn’t seem all that appealing to me. Fox recently showed three clips from the show (the pilot, I’m assuming) at their Upfront event, and those clips have found their way to YouTube. After having seen these clips… Well, I’m still not all that excited. They seem by-the-numbers action TV stuff to me, and it just looks like they’re recycling themes and scenes from the movies. But maybe I’m wrong, and this may prove to be good.

300 Spears 5 MTV Movie Awards Nominations

Frank Miller’s 300 cleaned up at the box office, and now it’s preparing to spear the living bejesus out of the 2007 MTV Movie Awards, nabbing five nominations, including Best Movie, making it tops. Coming in a close second is “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” with four. Nominations for 300 includes: Best Performance for star Gerard Butler (Leonidas), Breakthrough Performance for Lena Headey (Queen Gorgo), Best Villain for Rodrigo Santoro (Xerxes), and of course, everyone’s favorite, Best Fight for Leonidas’ battle with the “Uber Immortal” aka that deformed Giant, who actually isn’t an Immortal, but nevermind. Continue for the rest of the nominations…

“300″ Conquers the World

(Via The Hollywood Reporter) Thanks to smashing bows in five Asian territories as well as exceptionally strong holdover-market performances, “300″ dominated the foreign box office last weekend, battling its way to an estimated $15.6 million from 13 markets. The ancient epic took the No. 1 spot in each market it played. The fresh territories included South Korea ($6.3 million), Turkey ($1.5 million), Thailand ($917,000), Hong Kong ($730,000) and India ($582,000). The biggest of the holdover markets was Greece, where the film earned $2.5 million. The second-weekend tally was exceeded only by “300’s” record-setting opening weekend in the country. Upcoming this weekend are “300″ openings in such major territories as the U.K., France, Italy, Spain and Mexico. How you like them apples?

Another Reason to Line Up for “300″: Lena Headey

As if you needed one more, but just in case you aren’t already sold on lining up for the opening day of Frank Miller’s “300″, then here’s another one: Lena Headey is sexy. Plus, she’s got that bad girl vibe about her going on. The woman is tatted up from arm to back, and they look good, too. Normally I don’t appreciate women with tattoos, but they look quite good on Lena. Here’s the other thing about our lovely actress: I don’t know if she’s thought about it, but with “300″ and the upcoming “Sarah Connor Chronicles”, Lena Headey will have secured her place in the hearts and minds of geeks everywhere. Which means that no matter what she does from now on, Lena will always be the Queen in “300″ and, probably more importantly, Sarah Connor. I have no clue rather that is a good thing or a bad thing…

More “The Sarah Connor Chronicles” Series Details

In an interview with Sci Fi Wire to promote her upcoming movie “300″, the film’s star Lena Headey dropped some news about her upcoming TV series “The Sarah Connor Chronicles”, in which she’ll star as Sarah Conner, picking up the role from original star Linda Hamilton in the movies. According to Headey, the series will open with a “a confrontation between Headey’s title character; her son, John Connor (Heroes’ Thomas Dekker); and two new Terminators: a female model, played by Serenity’s Summer Glau, and a male one, which she called Cromartie, played by Owain Yeoman. One is good and one is bad; she didn’t say which is which. (Glau’s character is named Cameron, an apparent nod to Terminator franchise creator James Cameron.)” Continue on…

Lena Headey is Sarah Connor in “The Sarah Connor Chronicles”

Sci Fi Wire is reporting that actress Lena Headey has been cast as the lead in the “Terminator” TV series spin-off “The Sarah Connor Chronicles”, which follows the titular character originally assayed by Linda Hamilton on the big screen as she continues to wage war against evil computer Skynet and its Terminators. Which begs the question: “Who the hell is Lena Headey”? According to IMDB.com, Headey is a pretty active actress who has been in “The Cave”, “Ripley’s Game”, and “The Brothers Grimm”. She’s also going to be in Frank Miller’s “300″, and my guess is that she won the sure-to-be action-packed TV series based off her action-minded character in “The Brothers Grimm”.
