You know I love me my Michael Jackson Thriller parodies. Here’s one that was done using characters from that Godawful “Final Fantasy” animated movie that came out a few years ago that absolutely no one but me went to see because, frankly, I’m an idiot, and thought it might be good. This is actually a pretty good thriller routine, although it’s a little short at 90 seconds, and there’s no singing, only the instrumentals. Which I guess is kinda cool, too, although I would have liked to see something longer. I don’t know if someone did this on their computer or if the Final Fantasy people did it as a gag, but it still looks groovy.

Usually my predilection for Michael Jackson Thriller parody videos involve amateurs trying to do the dance, but every now and then I like to throw in a pro. Well, as pro as a college band can be, I suppose, as they’re not really pros, but kinda-pros since they do this for a living. I mean, we’re not talking about prison inmates in Asia or guests at a wedding. Anyhoo, this was filmed By Matthew Fallabel and is the 2005 Halloween Corner Performance With The Penn State Drum Line. Not bad. I kind of like the new flavor of the live instrumentals. But one question: Where the heck is everyone? The stands are practically deserted.

I’ve become obsessed with videos of people imitating Michael Jackson’s Thriller music video. Seriously, there’s something so catchy about it. Maybe it’s just the music, which has such great beats, pulses, all that stuff that makes a song great to listen to over and over. But really, maybe it’s the dedication it takes to actually get a bunch of people together to do the Thriller dance. Here’s one you haven’t seen before: a wedding ceremony where the bride and groom, with their guests, do the Thriller dance. No, seriously. It’s kinda cool, actually.

I don’t know if this is in a real prison (if it is, and going by the looks of the guys, it must be in some kind of Asian prison), but if it is, man, that just makes this video about 5,000 times cooler than it would be if this was some staged parody of Michael Jackson’s Thriller music video. And yes, there is a reason why Thriller is so often parodied. Remember that Indian parody? Basically, this is Michael Jackson in his heyday, back when he couldn’t do any wrong. (The whole touching kids inappropriately thing sort of put a damper on that.) And if this is being done by real prisoners? Apparently prison only sucks in America…

I mean, come ON, the song doesn’t even go with the video they’re ripping off! Anyways, this is an India version of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” music video, complete with monsters, zombies, and a guy wearing that famous red jacket. It’s from a while ago, I think. India has always been pretty notorious with ripping off American pop culture. Let’s see, there was the Spider-Man movie, the Star Wars movies, the Superman movies. Basically, if it’s a hit, some Indian producer comes up with the bright idea to rip it off and make some change off it. After all, how is Hollywood going to stop them? There are like, 20 billion Indians over in India. Who would you sue? Or worst, how would you find them???
