New TV Show Preview: New Amsterdam

FOX’s new TV show “New Amsterdam” has promise, and it certainly has a killer premise as far as I’m concerned — the lead is a man who has lived for 1,000 of years, and uses his extensive immortal knowledge to catch killers as a cop. Not bad. Then there’s the cast: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, the lead, I’ve never heard of, but there are a couple of babes in the picture, namely Alexie Gilmore and Zuleikha Robinson. Never heard of any of them, either, but from what I’ve seen of the show, it has promise. Alas, that’s the problem with geek shows — they’re incredibly hit and miss. You never know what the TV audience will go for or what they won’t, and FOX seems to be wobbling a bit on the show. I personally don’t think it’s getting enough promotion, but maybe that’ll change.
