Josh Hartnett Will COME WITH THE RAIN
Now this sounds like a movie I can get into. Variety reports that Josh Hartnett will be starring in a movie called “I Come With the Rain”, where he’ll play a private detective haunted by his past with a serial killer, who goes to Hong Kong in search of an heir who can heal with a touch. The writer/director is Tran Anh Hung (”The Scent of Green Papaya”), and the film will be mostly (if not entirely) shot in Hong Kong. This definitely sounds like a very cool premise for a movie, and I just hope it doesn’t turn out like some “Golden Child” reject. Harnett is one busy boy; besides “I Come with the Rain”, which will shoot in June, Harnett’s got the vampire movie “30 Days of Nights” coming out and “Resurrecting the Champ” with Samuel L. Jackson.

Every now and then a Hollywood celebrity known for their looks bemoans the fact that people are too shallow and notices only looks. Of course it never occurs to them that they probably end up famous because of their looks, which got them in the door and allowed them to prove their talent (or in some cases, not). Now I don’t know if Scarlett Johansson has done this (although I do recall that she’s pissed and moaned about this topic in some recent magazine article), but I’m sure she has. They all do, eventually. But hey, she can say whatever she wants, as long as she keeps exposing her generous twin talents like she’s doing here in Avenue Magazine.

Stuff Magazine has released their annual list of “100 Sexiest Women in the Whole Wide World and Beyond” (okay, maybe leave out half of that title), and the winner is … (drum roll, please) … Jessica Biel and her junk in the trunk! Biel, who probably didn’t cry over the recent cancellation of “Seventh Heaven”, topped the poll, as well as second place finisher Scarlett Johansson. The rest of the top 10 was composed of (in order of sexiest to least sexy) Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria, Katharine McPhee, Sienna Miller, Olivia Wilde, Angelina Jolie, Malin Akerman, and finally, Christina Aguilera.

Cripes, kids, it’s Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson, teaming up for the first time in “The Other Boleyn Girl”, a historical Brit film (or corsets and crumpets, as I like to call them) set to hit theaters in 2007. In the film, Johansson and Portman plays sisters competing for the affections of King Henry VIII, played by Eric Bana (”The Hulk”). The film is based on the fictional novel by Philippa Gregory and directed by Justin Chadwick.

Or, two be more precise, Scarlett Johansson and Mia Kirshner loves “The Black Dahlia”, the premiere of which was held at the Venice Film Festival in Italy. Then again, Scarlett and Mia combined are more than qualified to speak for all Hollywood babes, so I’m sticking with the post title. And oh yeah, “The Black Dahlia” is about the infamous killing of a Hollywood starlet in the 1940s, and is based on the novel by James Ellroy and directed by noir/thriller king Brian De Palma. Yes, I know that the director of “The Black Dahlia”, based on the real-life Hollywood homicide from the ’40s, is one Brian De Palma, and that Scarlett Johansson is only a co-star. But let’s face facts, people — the only reason I care about this movie is because Scarlett is in it. An adaptation of James Ellroy’s 1940s-set novel about two L.A. cops who head up the hunt for the killer of fledgling actress Elizabeth Short. The flick, due out September, co-stars Josh Hartnett and Hilary Swank.

Of course I’m going under the assumption that Scarlett is smart enough to know that she’s just being cute here, and doesn’t expect the “harassment” to stop.
