Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, who penned the low-budget, but insanely fun “Feast” horror flick, has been tapped to write the fourth installment of the “Saw” franchise, which, as was the case with the previous two, will hit theaters Halloween 2007. Says Melton, “I can’t say much just now, other than that we’re huge fans of the first three films and that we promise to continue the bloody, plot-twisting tradition of the franchise.” Now that’s all fine and well, Patty, but you just remember to bring Shawnee Smith back. That freaky killer who likes to saw people to pieces is back for a third go-around this Halloween. Can’t someone catch this guy already? They should call Columbo in for assistance. But I digress. As Amanda, the apprentice to original “Saw” killer Jigsaw, Shawnee Smith is back to kidnap and play with, and then of course kill, more dumb ass people who doesn’t appreciate life. If you don’t know the name Shawnee Smith, you might recall that she was the ditzy nurse on that Godawful Ted Danson show “Becker”.
