Allison Stokke: Reluctant Internet Hottie

10 May 2007

You spend all your life learning how to pole vault as best as you can, and then someone posts a picture of you on the Internet, and before you know it, you’re a reluctant Internet hottie. Such is the life for soon-to-be Cal University pole vaulter Allison Stokke. When interviewed by the Washington Times about her sudden notoriety on the net, Stokke, 18, replied, “It all just feels really demeaning.” Besides the pictures of the attractive High School track star, there are also videos of her plying her pole vaulting trade on numerous sites, including YouTube (below).

Tom Brady Caught Wearing a New York Yankees Cap

4 May 2007

So let me get this straight, Tom: You play for the New England Patriots, which happens to be located in the same state as the Boston Red Sox, whose most hated rival happens to be the New York Yankees (”The Evil Empire” and all that jazz), and you get caught walking on the New York streets with your supermodel girlfriend (who apparently relocated to New York for) wearing a New York Yankees cap? Man, you gotta be five shades to Sunday Stupid to do something boneheaded like that. Then again, I think both the Red Sox and the Yankees blow, so I’m kinda enjoying seeing this uproar over a — gasp! — cap. (Personally I blame it on the hot Brazilian supermodel girlfriend…)

NFL 2007 Draft Shockers

30 April 2007

If you’re a sports fan, you were glued to ESPN during the 2007 NFL Draft all day Saturday, and like most people, you were shocked by a lot of things that happened. For instance, Notre Dame QB Brady Quinn, who many thought was the best quarterback in the draft (even better than eventual #1 overall draft pick JaMarcus Russell according to some), fell all the way out of the 10s and into the 20s — #22, to be exact, where the hapless Cleveland Browns snapped him up as their second first round pick. And how about Troy Smith? The Heisman winner? Aka the best player in college football in 2006? He ended up in Baltimore, who took him with the final pick of the fifth round.

The IRL’s New Babe: Milka Duno

27 April 2007

The Indy Racing League has just got an injection of latin flavor. Joining the ranks of fellow IRL female drivers Danica Patrick and Sarah Fisher will be Venezuelan Milka Duno. Hailing from Caracas, Venezuela, Milka made her American driving debut in the American Le Mans Series in 2000, and followed that up with drives in 24 Hours of Daytona and 24 Hours of Le Mans the following year. She’s now signed to the Grand Am Series team, and will be racing in the IRL circuit. So, three women on the same track — that’s got to be some kind of record. So the question is, if Milka and Danica’s cars rub up against each other on the track, does that qualify as girl-on-girl action? Just wondering…

Vince Young on the Cover of Madden ‘08 Game

27 April 2007

Will the Madden Curse waylay Vince Young’s glorious career as the Tennessee Titans’ reigning quarterback? That seems to be the talk around the sports watercooler. Which is bullcrap. ESPN couldn’t stop Vince Young the months before the Rose Bowl Championship Game in 2005 no matter how hard they tried. The USC Trojans, with Reggie Bush, Matt Leinert, and their home field advantage couldn’t stop Vince Young from grabbing the NCAA football championship. And no stinkin’ abstract “curse” is going to put a bump in Vince Young’s NFL career, either. Hey, maybe it’s just an ex-Longhorn talking, but Vince Young is God. ‘Nuff said.

The Miami Heat Dance Team is the Hottest Team in the NBA

19 April 2007

The Houston Rockets are about to invade the NBA Playoffs and kick some Jazz ass in the first round, but alas, the Houston Rockets Dance Team (aka the Power Dancers) won’t be hoisting a championship trophy, having lost to the Miami Heat Dance Team in the final round of the NBA’s Dance Team championships. This marks the second year in a roll that the Heats girls have burned up the dance charts (get it? heat? burn? oh, I kill me), and we can see why. Check out some of the girls on the team in the pics below, then ogle the video of their recent photoshoot, and finally, head over to their NBA page for even more pictures of the dancers.

Superbowl Sunday Means Cheerleaders, Cheerleaders, and More Cheerleaders!

4 February 2007

Forget the pizza, the beer, or the Kevin Federline Superbowl commercial that you’ve been dying to see but won’t admit it because you think it might make you appear wimpy (and yes, it in fact, does make you appear very wimpy if you admit it). The real reason to watch the Superbowl is for the NFL cheerleaders working the sidelines. After all the effort these gorgeous women went through to get into shape and learn their dance moves, the least you can do is ogle them as they ply their trade. And oh yeah, I think there’s also a game on or somethin’, but don’t hold me to it.
