Whatever Happened to … Shannon Elizabeth?

18 December 2007

“American Pie” was more than eight years ago, but it mind as well be twenty for the good it did Shannon Elizabeth’s movie career. Okay, so it basically launched her movie career, or what little she has at the moment, because without it who knows where she would be. And where is that, exactly? Um, I’m not sure. I haven’t seen a whole lot of Shannon Elizabeth in the movies lately. If she’s been in any A-list pictures, then it must have been small roles, because I haven’t heard the name “Shannon Elizabeth” anywhere besides ESPN, where she plays annually at the World Series of Poker Main Event for as long as I’ve started watching about 4-5 years ago. In any case, we like to think that Shannon Elizabeth is out there getting ready to burst back onto the scene, but perhaps we’re just too optimistic.

Whatever Happened to … Stacy Keibler?

17 October 2007

Whatever happened to Stacy Keibler? Remember when Stacy was supposed to be the next big thing? Or was that all in our imagination? No, I’m pretty sure she was riding pretty hot just a year ago, with a stint on Dancing with the Stars and various appearances in men’s magazines that burned through the eyes of men everywhere they were so bloody hot. She did some TV shows (What About Brian, George Lopez), but that big movie career never really happened as we all expected. Then again, maybe we just had too high of an expectations for Stacy Keibler. She can finally be seen in the awful looking parody movie “The Comebacks”, playing “All-American Mom”. Not exactly superstar stuff, to be sure, but a gal’s gotta start somewhere, right?

Whatever Happened to … Sara Stokes?

24 August 2007

So whatever happened to R&B singer Sara Stokes? Who is Sara, you ask? Well to me she was the only reason I ever bothered to watch that unGodly “Reality” TV show “Making the Band 2″ on MTV. Or as Puff Daddy (or P Diddy or whatever the hell he’s calling himself these days) would call it, “Making DA Band 2″. Well apparently Da Band (the band that came out of the “Making the Band 2″ show) didn’t do so well, and was much derided as being fakes. Sara then went solo, appearing on Royce Da 5′9″ song “Wet My Whistle”, and she’s got a new album coming out, which you can find more on her Myspace Page, including listening to and watching the music video for her song “You”.

Whatever Happened to … Patsy Kensit?

30 May 2007

So whatever happened to Patsy Kensit? You remember Patsy Kensit, don’t you? She was the super hot blonde who stole Mel Gibson’s heart in “Lethal Weapon 2″. Heck, she was so smoking Mel had to take time off fighting racist South Africans to throw a shag into her. And when you can get a killing machine like Riggs to slow down, you gotta have something good! Well Patsy didn’t get sent to Guantanamo or anything, she just got trapped in bad B-movies before returning home to England, where she continues to have a thriving acting career. Plus, I think she married some asshole of a rock singer or something. It must be some oasis, that life of hers.

Whatever Happened to … Nicole Eggert?

2 May 2007

What in the world has happened to Nicole Eggert? She was one of the girls who suited up in the famous red swimsuit for the “Baywatch” TV show, but even before that, she was a star on the sitcom “Charles in Charge”. After that show, Nicole took a dip in B-movies with some lousy ones, including a softcore thriller called “Blown Up” with the Coreys, before landing the “Baywatch” gig. Since then, she’s had sporadic, and odd work, including “The Demolitionist”, and in 2004 she did the aliens-on-college movie “Decoys”. We would love to see more of Nicole, perhaps in more mainstream fare. Certainly, projects like “National Lampoon’s Cattle Call” doesn’t give us hope, though.

Whatever Happened to … Rachael Leigh Cook?

27 April 2007

Actually, nothing’s happened to Rachael Leigh Cook. She hasn’t been abducted by Scientologists and forced to have Tom Cruise’s love child or fell into a well or anything. She’s just sort of, well, disappeared from mainstream Hollywood films. Which is surprisingly, because after a starring role in “She’s all That”, she seemed to have a major career ahead of her. Instead, Rachael Leigh Cook’s last five projects have been — well, you probably haven’t heard of them. She did do a recurring character on the NBC show “Las Vegas”, so she hasn’t completely been given up for dead by Hollywood. In 2007, you can catch her in no less than 5 movies, including “Matters of Life and Death”, “The Final Season”, and “Nancy Drew”.

Whatever Happened to … Madchen Amick?

6 April 2007

Whatever happened to the gorgeous Madchen Amick? Remember her from “Twin Peaks”? Dale Cooper? Audrey Horne? Or maybe Shelly Johnson, played by Madchen? Everyone from “Twin Peaks” has had something of a sustained career, and for a while there it seemed like Madchen would have one as well. But for some reason, it never really happened. Although Madchen has continued to work consistently on TV, with lengthy and guest spots on shows like “E.R.”, “Law and Order”, “Freddie”, and “Joey”. And she’s also changed, too. I’m not a big fan of the new blonde look. She was always so much lovelier with dark hair; it brought out the green in her eyes. Currently she has a pilot called “Viva Laughlin”.

Whatever Happened To… Hunter Tylo?

13 February 2007

Unlike most actresses, Hunter Tylo didn’t really become famous for a role that she got, but for getting a role and then being fired from it before she even got a chance to shoot a single roll of film. That role was, of course, on the nighttime soap “Melrose Place”, aka “The Show Where Everyone Has Sex All the Time”, in the late ’90s or thereabouts. Anyways, since then I haven’t really seen a whole lot from Hunter Tylo, which is a crying shame as she’s mucho hot. (That’s Spanish, in case you don’t know.) So what has she done? According to IMDB.com, she went back to “The Bold and the Beautiful”, did some TV movies, and has a movie called “Highway 101″ coming out in 2007. So now you know.

Whatever Happened to Natasha Henstridge?

30 October 2006

Remember way back in 2002 when Natasha Henstridge actually had a film career? Then she was forced to do TV (”She Spies”, anyone?), then a really bad sequel to a kinda okay movie (”The Whole Ten Yards”, anyone?), and now she’s, urm, doing guest spots on TV. Her last gig was ABC’s cancelled “Commander in Chief”, with a cameo in the direct-to-video sequel “Species III” sprinkled in-between. I personally wouldn’t mind seeing a return to glory for Natasha, as I’ve been a big fan of hers since her “Species” days. And really, if you weren’t a fan of Natasha when she showed up in “Species”, you’re not a warm-blooded male who likes girls.

Whatever Happened to Mira Sorvino?

24 September 2006

How do you go from being an Oscar Winning actress to being in a bunch of TV movies that no one has seen? Is that even possible? Well apparently it is — just as Marisa Tomei, and now Mira Sorvino. Mira won an Oscar for the Woody Allen movie “Mighty Aphrodite” in 1996, parlayed that into a few starring roles, before dropping off the face of the Earth. She recently appeared on TV in “Covert One: The Hades Factor” and “Human Trafficking”, but otherwise Mira, gorgeous as she is, hasn’t really done a whole lot with that Oscar. She’ll next be seen in the Russian World War II movie “Leningrad” alongside Gabriel Byrne, about two Western journalists who fall in love during the German siege of Leningrad. Fun times!

Whatever Happened to Heather Graham?

18 September 2006

Remember Heather Graham? Rollergirl from “Boogie Nights”? Star of “From Hell” with Johnny Depp? The beautiful blonde girl who everyone wanted to “get” with? Yeah, her. Well, Heather hasn’t been doing a whole lot lately. Well don’t fret, kids, she hasn’t been abducted by aliens or been exiled to Arizona or anything. In fact, Heather has been working steadily, just not in anything you might have seen — she had a stint on “Scrubs”, then her own failed TV show, which exactly 7 people saw. She will also be in Emilio Estevez’s much ballyhooed film “Bobby” about RFK.

Whatever Happened to Alicia Silverstone?

19 July 2006

If there ever was a case of too much, too fast, it would be the career of Alicia Silverstone. After “Clueless”, this girl blew up, but then imploded soon after landing a richie rich production deal with some brain dead studio that offered her a gazillion dollars for a couple of movies. Fast forward to 2006, and Alicia, far removed from any semblance of stardom, is at the London premiere of a movie called “Stormbreaker” wearing what looks like a nightgown. You’d think her “people” woud tell her, “Alicia, you can’t be attending the premere of your movie in your nightgown, girl!” and I imagine they would do the finger-snapping thing afterwards. But in any case, “Stormbreaker” is a Brit action movie starring Silverstone and co-starring Mickey Rourke and Obi Wan Kenobi himself, Ewan McGregor, and is about a kid secret agent. I liked it better when it was called “Agent Cody Banks: Destination London”.

Whatever Happened to Emma Caulfield?

5 July 2006

What in the world ever happened to actress Emma Caulfield? She was supposed to be a big star after “Buffy the Vampire slayer”l, but a role in the horror stinker “Darkness Falls” might have effectively ended that road. Emma’s now regulated to TV roles in “Monk” and, of all places, the cartoon “Robot Chicken”, so it looks like darkness has, indeed, fallen on Emma’s once-promising movie career. But what the hey, here’s to the good times, when a hot Emma Caulfield graced many a magazine and launched a thousand fanboy’s ships. Yum.
