I didn’t think it was possible, but it’s happened: the CGI big screen adventure of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has overthrown Frank Miller and Zach Snyder’s “300″ at the box office. The return of the sewer-dwelling martial arts turtles took $25.45 million over the weekend, beating “300″, in its third week, by $5 million at $20 million and change. Mark Wahlberg’s America sucks movie “Shooter” came in third with $14.5 million in its opening weekend, followed by the children’s fantasty “The Last Mimzy” and the horror sequel “The Hills Have Eyes 2″, which came in with $10 million. Am I shock that the Turtles defeated the Spartans? One word: “Unfriggin’ believable.”

The live-action ninja turtles need to go on a diet.
